Michigan District 2018-19
Approximately 35 singers take part in the annually held District Competition. From this group the judges select 3 or more singers to advance to the regional competition. Prize monies totaling between $4000-$5000 USD are awarded. (Regional awards may total between $12000-$17000 USD).

Winners of each District advances to the Regional competition. The top winner(s) then travel to New York City to compete in the National Semi-Finals. The semi and final rounds are held over a two- week period. Each competitor receives coaching by the MET staff, performing for the public on the stage of the Metropolitan Opera House.
